Oh, and mind my double posting, for this is a shout-out to anyone who is reading this thread: I know why this site is dead. I know better than most people on here do, or at least, am the only one willing to admit it. I've been pondering lately how it has gone down, and digging through all the false reasons, the excuses, and the trolling, I've finally found the answer. And it isn't:

1. Inactivity
2. poor productivity(bad sprites, animations, etc.)
3. Trolling(Including bad criticism)

There is in fact, a heavy-mix of two reasons that combines into the curse that plagues this once glorious site. But the biggest of the two, and I don't want to hear how obvious this is because I don't recall anyone ever stepping up to say it, are the slackers. The dead weight. The useless members who seem to have nothing better to do then reminisce about NSS or laugh about jokes the newer members don't understand. And no, this isn't trolling, it's beyond trolling. The members whom I'm talking about know who they are: those of you who haven't posted anything sprite related in more than a few months for some. Those of you who complain about this site's demise and yet are the cause of it. Those of you whom want something done about it and yet don't do anything. If your still not sure, then watch the replies to this and other threads. If the topic leans towards hating on a certain member, then the members who are leading the roasting are the very same one's I'm talking about now, same goes for topics that are becoming trash, leading astray from the paths that they where meant to follow. The one's who shouldn't be here, who should've been banned a long time ago. And don't give me the "but they keep coming back" BS, just ban them until they stay down. I'd love to list everyone's name here. I'd love to tell Strict-gamer who should be warned, banned, or perma-banned. But I know that if I do, those members will just be fueled into more of their banter and ranting, as if it means anything to the site, me, or the members around them.

There shouldn't be inactivity sprite-wise on a site that advertises the promise of a good spriting environment. If someone asks me right now if they should join this site to get better, I'd say no, because they aren't going gain anything but regret. Do you know why there are members here who don't seem to want to get better? Because they don't wanted to be ranted on when they post something. They don't want posts like "shitsux" or "get better and come back". What the hell is wrong with you people? you all talk as if the glory days have all passed, but this site sure as hell could've been a revived version of the glory days at NSS that you all loved so much, and still could've been sprite related. The site didn't need to be like this, it could've been funny, a good spriting environment, and a great place to talk, but because of the slackers, it isn't. So what if there are a few trolls? Just ban them. So what if there's inactivity? Start a community project. It doesn't matter if it fails or not as long as the members get active again and become interested in spriting again. And if you no longer sprite, animate, or code, then leave, because there shouldn't be anything left for you here. Whenever someone tells you that you don't have anything better to do then troll and spam, they're probably right, especially if you have nothing to back it up with sprite-related, because need I remind you that this site is a SPRITE forum. People come here to talk and share their SPRITES. The CHAT sections SHOULD NOT be the most popular section, and it shouldn't be filled with trolling and spam.

Which actually leads me into my next topic: Bad moderation. You all know that the site doesn't exactly have the best staff, but half of you don't realize that you should be the targets of the staff. I was looking through the Hello/goodbye section, and I saw SP3's signature. You DO realize that this site has a lot of under-aged members, right? And you should care about that, any regular person should and would. If I was in charge, SP3 would've been banned for that ON THE SPOT. The staff needs to step things up, and it's simple:

1. Make stricter rules. If the slackers think the rules are too tight, then they're doing their job and shouldn't be loosened.
2. BAN PEOPLE WHO NEED TO BE BANNED, not just the occasional flamer.
3. WARN people who try to nudge their way around the rules, and then BAN the repeat offenders.
4. STOP threads from getting off-topic and out-of-hand, warn flamers, and ban anyone who continues or ignores you.

All you have to do is put your freaking foot down, the members who intimidate others should look like kittens to the staff, NOT the other way around.

Also, do not listen to every member. Take suggestions from people who appreciate the site and care about what happens to it, not the people who are here to just talk and don't like what you've done because it simply affects them. And so, in layman's terms, this is what I think should be done about the site, and more:

1. Ban members who troll, spam, or slack off for more than a month, and keep banning them, no matter how many times they come back.
2. Eliminate the "workers" staff group. The staff don't need to stimulate the spriting on this kind of site, they just need to regulate it.
3. Don't listen to those who don't mean very much to the site.
4. Don't be intimidated by people who don't mean much to the site.
5. Don't jump on other people's bandwagons, it makes you look just as much as an ass as the people doing it.
6. Start caring about the site. I sprite and animate because I LOVE to, I LOVE this site because I SHOULD be able to communicate and share my sprites with people whom usually know more about it than the people around me In real life.

And before some of the obvious people rant on this thread, listen to yourself. Do you sound dedicated to anything except your own selfish desires for the site? Do you REALLY care what happens to this? If the answer is no, then you shouldn't be here. You can talk to the members whom are your friends on Skype, MSN, facebook, etc.

If no one cares about this site, then I'm going to start my own. I KNOW how to run a sprite forum, and as much as I hate to admit it, Pixel-kingdom is slowly becoming like this site, and there's no denying that Viz.

If you want to help me make another site that doesn't tolerate useless members and obsessive trolling, P.M. me, for I do need an active staff of whom enjoys spriting enough to care. And no, it will not be a "pixel-art" forum. STRICTLY sprites, animations(sprite-wise), and games, because when a general GFX section is added, it begins to get unneeded attention.

Thank you for your time, and I hope you all seriously consider what I just said. Those of you who reply talking leik dis are most likely NOT fit to be here, and I hope the staff picked up some pointers on this. Literally, this site can be fixed over-night if the staff cleans up the crap lying around everywhere.

P.S. You have no idea how good this felt. I've been wanting to scream this on the top of a building for a LOOOONNNNNGGGG time, and you know what? I finally did it, the one thing most people don't do or give up because it's getting negative feedback. And I'm not afraid to perma-ban someone on a single sign of trolling, spamming, etc., so any of you thinking to troll my new site should back the f*ck off.
